RT Journal Article T1 Análisis bioestratigráfico del Eoceno Inferior de la sección de Barinatxe (Pirineos Occidentales) mediante nanofósiles calcáreos T1 Calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphic analysis of the lower Eocene of the Barinatxe section (Western Pyrenees) A1 Bernaola, Gilen A1 Nuño Arana, Y. A1 Payros, Aitor AB The Barinatxe section (Western Pyrenees) contains one of the most complete and expanded deep-watersuccession of the early Eocene so far described. The succession, cropped out continuously along sea cliffs,is rich in well preserved calcareous nannofossil. The calcareous nannofossil study carried out in Barinatxe section, where a total of 70 autochthonous earlyEocene calcareous nannofossil species have been identified, has allowed us to identify Zones NP10, NP11,NP12 and NP13. Furthermore, we have precisely pinpointed the succession of calcareous nannofossilbiohorizons and their relative position within the planktic foraminifer zones. The calcareous nannofossiland planktic foraminifer intercalibration scheme resulted from this study does not agree with the currentstandard biomagnetochronologic correlation scheme. In order to corroborate or contradict our observationssimilar studies in sections of a wide range of latitudes and depositional environments are needed YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8590 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8590 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
