AB El matrimonio es analizado en este artículo como una institución jurídica cuyo objeto es garantizar que ambos cónyuges puedan celebrarlo libremente y que puedan llevar a cabo los fines del mismo. Partiendo de algunas etimologías propuestas tradicionalmente para la palabra matrimonio se concluye que la evolución de la institución matrimonial en nuestro sistema jurídico siempre ha tenido la preocupación de proteger la libertad de la mujer y así debe seguir siendo.
AB Marriage is examined in this article as a legal institution whose purpose is to ensure that both spouses can celebrate their wedding freely and carry out their purposes. Starting from some traditionally proposed etymologies for the word marriage is concluded that the evolution of the marriage institution in our legal system has always been concerned to protect the freedom of women and should remain so.
