T1 Characterization of an extensional fault system in the western sector of the Montsec thrust (Central Pyrenees)

AB The structural characteristics of extensional and strike-slip dextral faults in the central part of the South Pyrenean Central Unit (SPCU), obtained from geological surface data, are here presented. Some of these normal faults define a little E-W and NW-SE horst-graben system at the hinge zone of the hanging wall anticlines associated with the Mediano and Montsec thrust sheets. These grabens are filled with materials of the Graus Formation and can be considered as Oligocene in age. However, other N-S and NE-SW faults cut and post-date this Cenozoic formation.The origin of some of these faults could be related with the last out of sequence movements of the Montsec thrust
AB Se presentan las características estructurales de fallas extensionales y direccionales, a partir de datos de geología de superficie en la zona central de la Unidad Surpirenaica Central (USPC). Algunas de estas fallas normales definen un sistema de pequeñas fosas alargadas de dirección E-W y NW-SE en la charnela de los anticlinales de bloque superior de las láminas de cabalgamiento de Mediano y Montsec. Posteriormente, las fosas correspondientes a este sistema de graben fueron rellenadas por los materiales de la Formación Graus de edad Oligoceno.Otras fallas, sin embargo, de dirección N-S y NE-SW se han identificado cortando únicamente esta formación y algunas de ellas podrían estar relacionadas con los últimos movimientos fuera de secuencia del cabalgamiento del Montsec
