AB Dos formaciones, correspondientes respectivamente a las secuencias deposicionales del alto Campaniense-Maastrichtiense y el alto Maastrichtiense-Paleoceno, se reconocen en las zonas exteriores del entorno Prebético, y se caracterizan por la instalación de sistemas lacustres durante el alto Cretáceo.
