AB Esta investigación realiza un análisis bibliométrico de laproducción científica en la Web of Science sobre el accesoa la educación superior a nivel mundial, desde 1975 hasta2022. Para el análisis, se utilizó el lenguaje R mediante elpaquete Bibliometrix en la aplicación Biblioshiny, y se aplicaronmétodos bibliométricos y una revisión sistemática paramapear, evaluar y analizar 1113 artículos científicos. Se destacauna alta producción anual de investigaciones, especialmenteen 2019, en revistas de alto impacto y colaboracionessignificativas entre países como Estados Unidos, ReinoUnido, Australia y Brasil. La distribución geográfica de laspublicaciones refleja la creciente importancia del accesoeducativo en el ámbito académico. A pesar del aumento enla matrícula universitaria, algunos países de ingresos mediosy bajos experimentaron reducciones debido a la pandemia deCOVID-19. Los hallazgos proporcionan una base informativacrucial para generar políticas que promuevan un accesoeducativo equitativo y universal.
AB This research presents a bibliometric analysis of scientificproduction on global access to higher education, indexedin the Web of Science, spanning from 1975 to 2022. Theanalysis was conducted using the R programming languagewith the Bibliometrix package through the Biblioshinyapplication. Bibliometric methods and systematic reviewapproaches were applied to map, evaluate, and analyze 1113scientific articles. The results highlight a high annual volumeof research, particularly peaking in 2019, in high-impactjournals and significant collaborative efforts among countriessuch as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia,and Brazil. The geographical distribution of publicationsreflects the growing academic emphasis on educationalaccess. Despite increases in university enrollment, somelow- and middle-income countries experienced declines dueto the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings provide a criticalinformational basis for developing policies aimed at fosteringmore equitable global access to education.
