These basins were inverted during the Tertiary giving rise to the Iberian Chain thrust belt. The analysis of a crustal section transverse to the Iberian Chain is presented; this section is based on a gravimetric model, and an area conservation through it is asumed. From this analysis a Mesozoic extension of 47 km and a Tertiary shortening of 75 km is estimated}, publisher = {Sociedad Geológica de España}, title = {Extensión mesozoica e inversión compresiva terciaria en la Cadena Ibérica: aportaciones a partir del análisis de un perfil gravimétrico}, title = {Mesozoic extension and Tertiary compressive inversion in the Iberian Chain: Results from the analysis of a gravity profile}, author = {Guimerà, J. and Salas, Ramón and Vergés, Jaume and Casas Sainz, Antonio}, }
