T1 El clero y la parroquia de Santa María de Moguer en el siglo XVI

AB El retroceso demográfico de Moguer tras el descubrimiento de América no  impidió que la villa se desarrollara en todos los campos a lo largo del siglo XVI. El clero secular, vinculado a la única parroquia local, ejerció su papel pastoral y económico en grado de jerarquía con fuerte influencia en los demás sectores de la sociedad. Tras hacer algunas consideraciones sobre la situación general y características de dicho clero, abordamos el gobierno de la vicaría moguereña y recogida y administración de sus diezmos, principal fuente de ingresos tanto del clero como de la parroquia; asimismo nos ocupamos de las reformas que se llevaron a cabo en la fábrica parroquial en un periodo que se distinguió por la acumulación de bienes raíces y muebles procedentes de las capellanías y obras pías allí fundadas, de las donaciones, adquisiciones y otros negocios contractuales que hicieron posible su prestigio y consolidación.___________________________The demographic regression Moguer after the discovery of America didnot prevent the village from being developed in all the different domains alongthe sixteenth century. The secular clergy, linked to the sole local parish, playedits pastoral and economic role as a top level of hierarchy with great influenceon other sectors of society. After pointing out some considerations on the general situation and the features of above-mentioned clergy, the government ofthe vicarage of Moguer, and the collection and administration of tithes (the mostimportant sources of income for both the parish and the clergy) are the followingaspects of research. Besides, this essay will also be focused on the reformscarried out in the parish factory in a period that was distinguished because ofthe accumulation of real estate and furniture coming from chapels and piousinstitutions founded there, donations, acquisitions, and other contractual businessesthat made possible its prestige and consolidation.
