AB Las religiones y las religiosidades sonunos de los fenómenos más importantesen la formación de las culturas y sociedades,siempre existiendo en la vinculaciónfuerte con el contexto donde han surgidoy integrados con todos sus elementos. Elobjetivo de este artículo lo constituye unacercamiento a los procesos históricos deformación de la religiosidad brasileña desdela época colonial, haciendo especial hincapiéen los factores que en mayor medidahan contribuido a darle su carácter de aperturaen la adaptación no sólo de la religióndominante (catolicismo lusitano), perotambién de otras religiones, a las condicioneslatinoamericanas, procesándolas in situsegún las necesidades de los brasileños yconvertiéndolas en una parte auténtica del‘alma brasileña’.
AB Both religions and religiosities havealways been one of the most importantphenomena in the process of formationof cultures and societies, existing in strongconnection with the context in which theyappeared and integrated with all of its ingredients.The objective of this article is toapproach the historical processes of formationof the Brazilian religiosity sincethe colonial period, highlighting factorswhich to the greatest extent have contributedtowards its qualities of openness in theadaptation of not only dominating religion(Lusitan Catholicism), but also other religions,to Latin American conditions, processingthem in situ according to the necessitiesof Brazilian people and convertingthem into a genuine part of the ‘Braziliansoul’.
