The older one is characterized by the presence of siliceous sands and silts, and mudstones; the former contain fluviatile Pelecypods and Gastropods, being interpreted as channellized deposits corresponding to the last stage of the Holocene fluvial inclssion. The mudstones sometimes contain a high content in carbonate and/or organic matter, root debris and gastropods are also common; this sediments are interpretad as deposited in a muddy alluvial plain. Finally, the younger event is dominated by peat and lime mud sedimentation in a lacustrine-palustrlne system crossed by some fluvial channels}, publisher = {Sociedad Geológica de España}, title = {Evolución sedimentaria reciente de las Tablas de Daimiel (Ciudad Real)}, title = {Recent sedimentary evolution ofthe Tablas de Daimiel (Ciudad Real)}, author = {García Hidalgo, J.
