AB La Alianza de Civilizaciones es una iniciativa del Gobierno deEspaña aceptada por Naciones Unidas. Es ahora ya una iniciativa degran éxito como demuestran los numerosos Estados que la han ratificadoy el alto número de Estados y representantes de la sociedad civilque acuden a los foros anuales de la Alianza. Ha sido objeto de fuertescríticas en España, porque es considerada como un proyecto utópico ypeligroso. Se cree que una alianza entre la cultura occidental e islámicaes imposible por la enorme disparidad en todas las facetas. El autor deeste artículo opone fundados argumentos contra las críticas.
AB Alliance of Civilizations is the initiative of the SpanishGovernment, accepted by United Nations. It is already an initiative ofgreat success as evidenced by the many States that have acceded to itand the high number of States and representatives of civil societyattending the annual forums of the AllianceIt has been subjected to strong criticism in Spain, because it seemed autopian and dangerous project. They believe that an alliance betweenWestern culture and the Muslim culture by its enormous disparity inevery facet is impossible. The author of this article opposes foundedarguments to criticisms.
