T1 Berrocal, la búsqueda de su municipalidad : historia de un pleito

AB En el presente artículo pretendemos reconstruir la trayectoria que siguen los vecinos de Berrocal y que dura desde antes de la concesión de su villazgo hasta  casi a la entrada del siglo XIX. En este trabajo se aportan testimonios acerca de los orígenes de la propia existencia de Berrocal como la comunidad vecinal, la defensa de su territorialidad desde la época de los Reyes Católicos hasta casi el último tercio de siglo XIX. El núcleo central del trabajo se centra en el siglo XVII, donde el pleito alcanza mayores cotas de tensión contra el Marquesado de Paterna del Campo. En el siglo XVIII se lleva a cabo su deslinde definitivo, si bien en el siglo XIX se refleja el litigio por otros medios, en el momento que los agricultores de Berrocal acceden a la propiedad de sus tierras y se termina con la venta de parte del término, “ Las Arrayadas”,  al municipio de Paterna; si bien el autor para ello, se apoya sólo en la tradición oral, pues, hasta ahora, no ha encontrado documentación escrita para datarlo.________________________________In this article, we attempt to reconstruct the course followed by the inhabitantsof the village of Berrocal through a number of disputes which can be reducedto a single one, lasting from the initial acquisition of the village status almostuntil the beginning of 19th century. Besides, we will put forward evidences concerningthe origins of its existence as a neighbourhood community, and thedefence of this territory from the reign of the Catholic Kings (King Ferdinandand Queen Isabel) until the last third of 19th century.The central point of this work is developed in the 17th century, when the disputereaches its peak, especially with the territories of the marquis of the villageof Paterna del Campo. In the 18th century this comes to a head, though thenineteenth century reflects it at the moment when local farmers gain access toownership of the land, and gets its final resolution with the sale of "LasArrayadas" in favour of Paterna del Campo. Notwithstanding for the latter, thewriter is just supported by oral tradition because, to date, no written documenthas been located.
