T1 ¿Arte o falacia? El pintor y falsificador húngaro Elmyr de Hory

AB Durante la segunda mitad del sigloXX tuvo lugar un sonoro y mediáticocaso de falsificaciones de obras de arte.Un pintor húngaro, afincado en Ibiza, eraacusado de haber realizado un sinnúmerode dibujos y pinturas de varios maestrospostimpresionistas haciéndolos pasar porobras auténticas. El caso conmocionó loscimientos del mercado del arte vigente.Hizo que se replanteasen cuestiones básicasrelativas a la autoría de las obras y a losvalores en torno a los que giraban la ventay adquisición de piezas artísticas, así comolos derechos e intereses culturales de losartistas, coleccionistas, museos e, incluso,naciones enteras deseosas de velar porsu patrimonio cultural. Las necesidadesprovocadas por la sociedad del bienestarsupusieron el contexto idóneo para queeste fraude tomara las dimensiones de unfenómeno social, cultural y económico sinprecedentes conocidos.
AB During the second half of the twentiethcentury a sound and newsworthy case ofart falsification took place. A Hungarianpainter who used to live in Ibiza, wasaccused of having made a number ofdrawings and paintings and makingthem seem like authentic artworks. Thecase shocked the foundations of the artmarket force at the time. It questionedworks authorship and the values aroundwhich the sale and acquisition of artworks were founded, but also concernedthe cultural rights and artists, collectors,museums interests, and even entire nationsto eagerly re-think about their culturalheritage. The needs created by the welfarestate became the ideal context for thisfraud to take social, cultural and economicunprecedented known dimensions.
