AB Las funciones que desempeñan los festivaleso muestras de cine son muy diversas desdeel ámbito o entorno en que se desenvuelven.Los festivales no sólo son un espaciodonde cineastas, directores profesionales o novelesmuestran y exhiben sus trabajos; además suponenuna manifestación de índole cultural y social desdedonde se generan importantes cometidos audiovisualestambién de naturaleza educativa, instructivay pedagógica.Y ahí nace la MICE, un sueño de pasionales francotiradoresde la cultura y la educación audiovisualque se va haciendo realidad por encima de las murallasdel convencionalismo social y el inmediatismo economicistadel sector cinematográfico.Mice es un festival con finalidad educativa y que promocionala educación audiovisual y el cine más allá delglobalizado consumismo industrial. La MICE es la granpantalla de las películas realizadas por el alumnado:escritura de imágenes, y de la cinematografía profesionalde calidad: lectura de imágenes. Proponemosun aprendizaje secuenciado y no inmediatista, que partade la esencial escritura digital hasta formar un espectadorcrítico, democrático, libre y culto. En base a las teorías de Vigostki y Enrique Martínez-Salanova,tratamos de identificar las características de estas dosfunciones generales: la función lectora y la función creativay transpolarlas al festival.La MICE es miembro de pleno derecho de la ECFA(European Children Film Asociation) con sede en Bruselas,de la CIFEJ (Centro International pour les Filmsde l’Enfance et la Jeunesse) auspiciada por UNESCOy con sede en Teherán y de cuya junta directiva el directorde la MICE, Josep Arbiol, forma parte y deUNIAL (Universo Audiovisual del niño latinoamericano)con sede en La Habana. Tenemos acuerdo decolaboración con la Academia de Cine de España yla Generalitat Valenciana.El carácter educativo del festival hace de él una propuestamerecedora de estudio y empecinado apoyodado su impacto en la diversidad, atendiendo a las necesidadescomunicativas y audiovisuales de las futurassociedades y teniendo cada vez mayor nivel internacional.Con la MICE queremos abrir una ventana.al cine educativo internacional en Valencia, queremosabrir una pantalla para que docentes y discentestengan un escenario dónde presentar las prácticas audiovisualesque realizan, queremos acercar el mundo del cine profesional a la educación sin que esta sea tomadasólo como nicho económico de mercado. Queremosseguir poniendo a Valencia como referentede la «educomunicación» en el escenario mundial
AB Festivals and film exhibitions have various functions depending on the field, or the environment in which they unfold. Festivals are not only places where filmmakers, professional or novice directors show and display their works. But, additionally, they are a demonstrations of cultural and social nature from which they create important audiovisual tasks of educational, instructive, and pedagogic nature also. And there arises MICE, a dream for passionate snipers of culture and audiovisual education, that is becoming reality beyond the walls of social conventionalism and economic immediacy of the cinematographic field. MICE is a festival with an educational aim, and it promotes audiovisual education, and films beyond the globalised industrial consumerism. This festival is the big screen of the films made by the student body: writing of images; and of the professional quality cinematography: reading of images. We suggest a sequenced learning, and not immediate, which will form a critical, democratic, free, and learned spectator, on the basis of essential digital writing. Relying on the theories of Vygostky, a psychologist, and Enrique Martínez-Salanova, writer and director of Aularia, we try to identify the characteristics of these two general functions: the reading function, and the creative one, and extrapolate them to the festival. Moreover, MICE is a full member of ECFA (European Children Film Association) with headquarters in Brussels: of CIFEJ (Centro International pour les Films de l’Enfance et la Jeunesse) sponsored by UNESCO, with its principal place of business in Teherán, and of whose governing board MICE’s director, Josep Arbiol, was part; and of UNIAL (Universo Audiovisual del niño latinoamericano) with headquarters in La Habana. We have a collaboration agreement with the Film Academy of Spain, and the Generalitat Valenciana, the community of Valencia. The educational character of the festival makes it a worthy proposal of study, and stubborn support, for its impact on diversity, paying attention to the communicative and audiovisual needs of future societies, and having greater and greater international level. With MICE we want to open a window to international educational cinema in Valencia; we wish to open a screen so that teachers and students have a stage where they can display audiovisual practices that they make. Also, we want to bring the world of professional cinema closer to education, without the former one being taken only as an economic niche market. Our purpose is to continue to hold up Valencia as a referent of «educomunication» in the global scenario.
