AB Since the discovery in 2005 of the potential of soluble Au complexes to catalyse the transfer of carbene groups from diazo compounds to organic substrates, an increasing number of transformations have been reported. In this contribution, the advances in the field are presented as foundations for further developments in the incoming years.
