AB En la teoría política contemporánea estamos asistiendo a un auge del pensamientorepublicano, que se presenta como alternativa a un liberalismo que pareceagotado. El centro de la discusión lo constituye el debate sobre los conceptos de libertad:el negativo, adscrito al liberalismo, y la “no-dominación”, invocada por los neorepublicanos.En el presente trabajo se analizan las consecuencias políticas de abordarel tema de la libertad únicamente a través de la contraposición de distintas definicionesque se presentan como incompatibles entre sí.
AB In contemporary political theory we are witnessing an increase of adherents ofrepublicanism, understood as an alternative discourse to a supposedly exhausted liberalism.The debate on the concepts of liberty occupies the centre of the discussion. The defenceof the negative concept of liberty attributed to the liberal tradition is contested using analternative definition of liberty as non-domination. The present article analyzes the politicalconsequences of approaching the subject of liberty under such presuppositions, limited tothe emphasis on the clash of contrasting definitions of the concept.
