AB En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de lasintervenciones arqueológicas preventivas realizadasen la mina de Aguas Teñidas (Almonaster la Real,Huelva). Se describen los restos romanos asociadosa su explotación, un pequeño escorial de cobre yun edificio de grandes dimensiones, y se estudianlos materiales muebles asociados a estos restos, quepermiten plantear que la explotación se centró en laprimera mitad del siglo I d. C. Como conclusión sepropone que Aguas Teñidas representa un modelode explotación minera muy corriente en las minasde la Faja Pirítica ibérica, un distrito minero en elque sólo las grandes minas de Riotinto, Tharsis,Sotiel Coronada, y Aljustrel continuaron con laproducción de metal en la segunda mitad del siglo Id.C. y el siglo II d.C.
AB This paper presents the results of archaeologicalpreventive interventions carried out at AguasTeñidas mine (Almonaster la Real, Huelva). Wedescribe the Roman remains associated with itsexplotation, a small heaps of copper slag and a largebuilding, and the study of archeological materialsassociated with these remains (pottery, glass, irontools, etc.), which allow to state that the operationconcentrated on the first half of the first centurya.C. In conclusion Aguas Teñidas represent a modelmine very common in the mines of the IberianPyrite Belt, a mining district in which only largemines of Rio Tinto, Tharsis, Sotiel Coronada, andAljustrel continued with the metal production inthe second half of the first century and the secondcentury a.C.
