RT Journal Article T1 Aplicación del modelo hidrológico SWAT a la cuenca del río Meca (Huelva, España) T1 Application of SWAT hydrological model to the Meca river watershed (Huelva, Spain) A1 Galván González, Laura A1 Olías Álvarez, Manuel A1 Fernández de Villarán San Juan, Rubén A1 Domingo Santos, Juan Manuel AB Acid mine drainage (AMD) is the main pollutant source in the Odiel river basin (SW Spain). Stream-flowdata constitute a tool to assess the pollutant load transported by the drainage network, as well as toevaluate the possible impact of restoration measurements along the river. Due to the malfunctioning ofthe available stream-gauges and in order to sham the Odiel river behavior, a water model is being elaboratedusing the tool SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool), developed by the USDA Agricultural ResearchService. For the first stage of the project we have selected the Meca river watershed, a tributary of theOdiel river, which is regulated by the Sancho reservoir and whose daily contributions have been used toboth calibrate and validate the model. Obtained results show a well adjustment for wetter years while forthe drier ones higher differences between simulated and measured flows have been observed YR 2007 FD 2007 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8394 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8394 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
