AB El presente artículo analiza la variaciónque se ha constatado en la representación gráficade las sibilantes españolas en un corpus epistolarcomercial compuesto por 131 cartas autógrafasescritas en español por cuatro comerciantesneerlandeses entre 1669 y 1677. En concreto, sepretende examinar si los autores multilingüesde las cartas manejaban una norma distinguidorao no distinguidora, así como los procesos queinfluyeron en esta selección y cómo adquirieronesta norma. Para poder determinar estas cuestiones,los datos del corpus epistolar se hancontrastado con los del Corpus diacrónico delespañol (CORDE). Se concluye que los autoresmanejaban el sistema no distinguidor seseantey que en esta selección habrían influido factorestanto internos o cognitivos como externos o sociolingüísticos.
AB This article analyzes the variation foundin the graphic representation of Spanish sibilantsin a commercial letter corpus composedof 131 letters written in Spanish by four Dutchmerchants between 1669 and 1677. Specifically,the objective of this study is to examine whetherthe multilingual authors of the letters in questionemployed sibilant neutralization and, if so,to elucidate the processes that influenced thisselection and how they acquired this norm. Inorder to clarify these questions, the data of theletter corpus have been compared with those ofCORDE corpus. It is concluded that the authorsused a system with sibilant neutralization andthat both internal or cognitive factors and externalor sociolinguistic factors would have influencedthis selection.
