AB Este artigo historiográfico tem como objecto de investigação a migração de andaluzespara o Algarve, entre c. 1810 e 1914. Numaprimeira parte aborda-se as principais causas efactores migratórios, assim como identifica-seos principais municípios de origem e de destinodesses emigrantes. Averigua-se quais foram asdécadas em que esses fluxos migratórios mais seintensificaram. Numa segunda parte segue-se orastro a esses emigrantes andaluzes radicados noAlgarve, identificando quais os negócios e asindústrias a que mais se dedicaram nos concelhos de Loulé e de Vila Real de Santo António(V.R.S.A., daqui em diante), assim como quaisforam as inovações tecnológicas que importaram e implementaram na região, contribuindo,dessa forma, para a revolução industrial algarviade finais do século XIX. Analisa-se, igualmente,quais os seus estatutos sócio-económico e sócio--político nas duas colónias de andaluzes a residirnos concelhos de Loulé e de V.R.S.A
AB This historiographical article focuses onthe migration of Andalusians to the Algarve,between c. 1810 and 1914. In the first part,the main causes and migratory factors are addressed, as well as the main municipalities oforigin and destination of these emigrants areidentified. It is also attempted to find out whichwere the decades in which these migratory flowsintensified the most. In a second part, the trailof these Andalusian emigrants living in the Algarve is followed, identifying which businessesand industries were most dedicated to in themunicipalities of Loulé and V.R.S.A., as wellas the technological innovations they imported and implemented in the region, thus contributing to the Algarve industrial revolutionof the late 19th century. It also analyzes theirsocio-economic and socio-political status in thetwo Andalusian colonies in the municipalitiesof Loulé and V.R.S.A
