RT Journal Article T1 Excited-state phase transition and onset of chaos in quantum optical models A1 Pérez Fernández, Pedro A1 Relaño Pérez, Armando A1 Arias Carrasco, José Miguel A1 Cejnar, P. A1 Dukelsky, J. A1 García Ramos, José Enrique K1 Bosones AB We study critical behavior of excited states and its relation to order and chaos in the Jaynes-Cummings and Dicke models of quantum optics. We show that both models exhibit a chain ofexcited-state quantum phase transitions demarcating the upper edge of the superradiant phase. Forthe Dicke model, the signatures of criticality in excited states are blurred by the onset of chaoswhich happens in the same energy region.
