RT Journal Article T1 Influencia de la orientación de la anisotropía en el desarrollo de shear bands: estudio experimental T1 Influence of the anisotropy orientation on shear band development: an experimental approach A1 Gómez Rivas, Enrique A1 Griera, Albert A1 Carreras, Jordi A1 Druguet, Elena AB Shear bands are geologic structures widely used as kinematic indicators. Despite the large amount ofstudies about these structures, their mechanical development is not yet well known. This work presents anexperimental study of shear band localization and evolution under coaxial deformation. Particular attentionis given to the influence of the obliquity of anisotropy planes on the orientation of shear bands. Duringdeformation, two conjugate sets of shear bands develop symmetrically for models with layers parallel tothe extension axis, while for oblique orientations one set dominates. Anisotropy planes have a stronginfluence on the local stress field around conjugate fracture systems, which deviates from the appliedboundary conditions YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8577 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8577 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
