These travertines developed probably over marine terraces as soon as the latter underwent successively subaerial exposure. Samples from the travertine fronts yielded absolute U / Th ages ranging between 225 and 97 ky BP. These data allow inferring the travertines as formed in a regressive context starting probably at 700 ka BP. The travertinic formation had an important episode at 110-120 ka BP, then characterized by a triple cascade before finishing at about 97-98 ka}, title = {Edad U/Th de los travertinos de Beni Younech y correlación con las terrazas marinas cuaternarias de Ras Leona (SE del Estrecho de Gibraltar, Marruecos)}, title = {U/Th ages of the travertines of Beni Younech and correlation with the Quaternary marine terraces of Ras Leona (SE of the Strait of Gibraltar, Morocco)}, author = {Chalouan, Ahmed and Sanz de Galdeano, Carlos and Galindo Zaldívar, Jesús and Julià, Ramón and El Kadiri, Khalil and Pedrera Parias, Antonio and Hlila, Rachid and Akil, Mustafa and Ahmamou, M’Fedal}, }
