AB Three travertinic levels have been identified in the Beni Younech village, near the Quaternary marineterraces of Ras Leona Point, in the south-eastern coast of the Gibraltar Strait. These travertines developedprobably over marine terraces as soon as the latter underwent successively subaerial exposure. Samplesfrom the travertine fronts yielded absolute U / Th ages ranging between 225 and 97 ky BP. These dataallow inferring the travertines as formed in a regressive context starting probably at 700 ka BP. The travertinicformation had an important episode at 110-120 ka BP, then characterized by a triple cascade beforefinishing at about 97-98 ka
