T1 Las sacerdotisas del culto imperial y sus prácticas evergéticas : el caso de una "flamínica" africana

AB De la comunidad nordafricana de Cirta, procede un texto epigráfico de enorme interés, ya que representa uno de los primeros ejemplos de la sociedad provincial alusivos a las sacerdotisas del culto a las emperatrices. En concreto se menciona a una mujer ciudadana, rica e influyente que se convirtió en la flamínica de la diva Augusta. La datación del documento en los años 42-43 d.C. y muy poco después de la consagración oficial de Livia, la presencia del gobernador provincial de África como autoridad que sanciona el homenaje religioso y la alusión a la mujer que actúa como sacerdotisa y dona una posible estatua a la esposa deificada de Augusto son algunas de las cuestiones que se analizan en el presente artículo. En suma, se trata de conocer la popularidad y organización del culto imperial en sus orígenes, pero también de resaltar el papel de las ciudadanas romanas en su difusión.______________________________From the North-African community of Cirta there comes an epigraphic text ofenormous interest, since it represents one of the first examples of the provincial societythat refers to the priestesses devoted to the cult of the Empress. In particular, we find areference to a woman citizen, rich and influential, who was converted to flaminica of thediva Augusta. Some of the issues this paper seeks to analyse are the dating of the document,in the years 42-43 AD, shortly after the official consecration of Livia, the presence of aprovincial governor of Africa as the authority who sanctions the religious homage, andthe reference to a woman who plays the role of priestess and donates a possible statue toAugustus' deified wife. In sum, we seek to know the popularity and organisation of theimperial cult in its origins, but also to emphasise te role played by Roman women citizensin its spreading.
