RT Journal Article T1 Caracterización de la Formación Villar del Arzobispo al sur de Zaragoza (Titónico, Cordillera Ibérica) T1 Characterization of the Villar del Arzobispo Formation south of Zaragoza (Tithonian, Iberian Chain) A1 Ipas Lloréns, Javier Francisco A1 Aurell, Marc A1 Bádenas, Beatriz A1 Canudo, José Ignacio A1 Liesa, Carlos L. A1 Mas, José Ramón A1 Soria, Ana Rosa AB The Villar del Arzobispo Formation (middle Tithonian–lowermost Berriasian) has been recognized for thefirst time in the two classical outcrops of Villanueva de Huerva and Aguilón (Zaragoza, nor thern IberianChain). It consists of a 40-70 m thick detritial succession, with scarce carbonate levels (ooidal and skeletalpackstone with echinoderms, miliolids and other marine fossils). In previous works, this uppermost Jurassicunit was considered to form the lower part of the Villanueva de Huerva Formation (late Valanginian-Hauterivian). However, a low-angle angular unconformity between the Villar del Arzobispo and Villanuevade Huerva formations is described here. The new interpretation gives an explanation to the occasionalmarine influence observed in the nearby Cameros basin (i.e., Matute Formation, middle–upper Tithonian) YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8451 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8451 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
