RT Journal Article T1 Ruthenium-Catalyzed Heck-Type Alkenylation of Alkyl Bromides A1 Muñoz Molina, José María A1 Pérez Romero, Pedro José AB The complex [Cp*RuCl(PPh3)2] displays a high catalytic activity forthe Heck-type alkenylation of alkyl bromides, in the first example using this metalunder thermal conditions. The coupling reaction proceeds efficiently with avariety of functionalized tertiary, secondary, and primary alkyl bromides. Thepresence of Hünig’s base has been revealed crucial for this transformation. Preliminarymechanistic studies support the participation of alkyl radicals in thereaction.
