T1 Economía del desarrollo vs economía del bienestar : distintas filosofías de vida

AB Este artículo muestra a través de la teoría de tres importantes autores, David Hume, Adam Smith y Jeremy Bentham, que los economistas se dedican a la economía del desarrollo o al análisis microeconómico porque tienen dis-tintas filosofías de la vida y del hombre. La teoría microeconómica necesaria-mente se basa en una concepción utilitarista o ambientalista del ser humano, y no estudia fértilmente el desarrollo económico. Entre otras cosas, se basa en hipótesis subjetivas y deterministas. Una teoría basada en la utilidad nece-sariamente está abocada a explicar estados paralelos e irregulares, en cierto modo excepcionales. ____________________________________________This article makes use of the theory of three relevant authors, David Hume, Adam Smith and Jeremy Bentham, to show that the stress laid on develop-ment economics versus microeconomic analysis by different authors is based on their different philosophy of life and their concept of human beings. Micro-economic theory implies a utilitarian or environmentalist concept of man, and it is useless to study economic development. Just as an example, it relies on subjective and deterministic hypotheses. A theory based on utility can only explain parallel and irregular states, in some sense exceptional.
