RT Journal Article T1 Alteración diagenética en conchas de rudistas caprotínidos del Complejo Urgoniano de la Punta del Castillo (Albiense inferior, Gorliz, Bizkaia) T1 Diagenetic alteration in caprotinid rudist shells from the Urgonian Complex of El Castillo Cape (Lower Albian,Gorliz, Bizkaia) A1 Regidor Higuera, I. A1 García Garmilla, Francisco AB The shallow marine carbonate platform sediments of El Castillo Cape (lower Albian, Gorliz, Bizkaia) bearrudists from the families Monopleuridae and Caprotinidae. The geochemical, isotopic and luminescentbehavior of caprotinid shells allows to us to assure a different response to diagenetic processes in comparisonwith the monopleurid ones. A medium diagenetic degree for caprotinid shells is deduced from the constantcationic profiles, low Na+ and Sr2+ contents, high Mn2+ and Fe2+ values, together with the homogenizeddistribution of cathodoluminescence in the shells. The degradation of the interprismatic organic matteropened ways for circulation of diagenetic fluids that precipitated early cements of sintaxial High MagnesianCalcite upon prismatic crystals. The isotopic results of C and O confirm that the shells of monopleuridshave a greater resistance to the alteration than those of caprotinids PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 2005 FD 2005 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8646 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8646 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 31 may 2026
