AB Hay obispos cuya vida está vinculadacon los orígenes de una determinada diócesis.Estos obispos suelen adquirir un valormuy simbólico para la historia de ésta.Durante los siglos XII y XIII se produceun importante avance en el proceso de fundaciónde nuevas diócesis en Castilla. Lamayoría de los datos biográficos sobre losprimeros obispos de estas nuevas diócesisestán referidos a los principales hechos delproceso de institucionalización diocesana.En este contexto, este artículo estudia elcaso de los dos primeros obispos de Cuencay de sus paralelismos biográficos, destacándosela relación entre biografía, podery memoria y la importancia histórica delproceso de santificación del segundo de estosprelados.
AB There are bishops whose life is closelylinked to the origins of a particular diocese.These bishops tend to be a very simbolicvalue for the history of their dioceses. Duringthe 12th and 13th centuries a breakthroughoccurs in the process of foundationof new dioceses in Castile. Most of thebiographical data about the first bishops ofthese new dioceses are referred to the mainacts of the Diocesan institutionalizationprocess. In this context, this article exploresthe case of the first two bishops of Cuencaand their biographical parallels, emphasizingthe relationship between biography,power, and memory and the historical importanceof the process of sanctification ofthe second of these prelates.
