AB Pleurodira fue un clado de quelonios abundante y diverso en el Eocenode Europa. El representante mejor conocido es Neochelys. A este género sehan asignado varias especies. Una de las peor conocidas es la alemanaNeochelys franzeni. El estudio de un ejemplar inédito, que es aquí atribuidoa este taxón y que corresponde a un individuo juvenil, aporta nuevos datostanto sobre esa especie como sobre la ontogenia y la variabilidadintraespecífica e interespecífica del género
AB Pleurodira was an abundant and diverse clade of turtles in the Eoceneof Europe. The best known representative is Neochelys. Several species havebeen assigned to it. One of the poorly-known species is the German Neochelysfranzeni. The study of an unpublished specimen, which is attributedhere to this taxon, and identified as a juvenile individual, sheds new light onboth the knowledge about this species and on the ontogeny and the intraspecificand interspecific variability of the genus
