AB Chile presenta actualmente los indicadores de acceso a las nuevas tecnologías de la información másaltos a nivel regional. Es a partir de este hecho que el objetivo central de esta investigación es darcuenta del contexto y los factores que explicarían este desarrollo y cuáles serian las líneas generalesy desafíos con los que se enfrenta Chile ante la Sociedad de la información.________________________________Chile currently demonstrates the highest access indicators to new information technologies in theregion. With this in mind, the primary objectives of this research are to describe the key factors thatexplain this high level of technological development and to identify the principal challenges thatChile will face in the Information Society.
