AB Este estudio observa el cambio estructural y su eficiencia en Argentinay Brasil entre 1980 y 2008, como resultado de la interacción del cambiotecnológico y las innovaciones con las complementariedades. Para ello,se ha estimado una ecuación general sobre el cambio estructural y tresparciales sobre sus componentes. Según los resultados del estudio nohubo crecimiento basado en el cambio estructural en Argentina. En Brasilhubo una respuesta positiva pero débil, lo que apunta a la necesidad demejorar la coordinación de su sistema de innovación y la articulación de suestructura productiva
AB This study focus on structural changes and their efficiency in Argentinaand Brazil between 1980 and 2008, as result of interaction betweentechnological change and innovations and complementarities. To this aim,a general equation of structural change and three partial equations of itscomponents have been estimated. According to the results of the study,there was no structural change-led growth in Argentina. There was a positivebut weak response in Brazil, pointing to the need to improve the coordinationof the innovation system and articulation of its productive structure
