RT Journal Article T1 Distortion and Unbalance Assessing Indices Using Commercial Analysers A1 Salmerón Revuelta, Patricio A1 Sánchez Herrera, María Reyes A1 Pérez Vallés, Alejandro A1 Prieto Thomas, Jaime AB Power quality monitoring is assuming anincreasing importance because of the large diffusion ofnonlinear and time-varying single-phase and three-phase loadsand their interactions with the power supply system. This hasmade that the industrial electrical consumer systematically usesmeasure equipment to evaluate the electric power quality. Themeasurements show that the harmonics of the waveforms arevariable alongwith the time due to the changes in the loadconditions and in the system configuration. Thus, the electricalusers dispose of a great quantity of data from such of the threephases of the supply. Therefore, it is necessary to find a way tocharacterize this great group of registered data. Thus, theobjectives of this work are: firstly, to propose two indices, athree-phase total demand distortion index and a three-phasetotal unbalance index; secondly, this paper proposes a simpleway to characterize thegroups of data in an statistical waywhich make easy its representation. The study carried out isapplied to the data recently registered in an electrical powersystem.
