Desde una óptica patrimonial yturística, el moguereño Eustaquio JiménezMantecón (1880-1942) se convertirá, en lasprimeras décadas del siglo XX, en uno de susmás firmes defensores. Este estudio pretendeconocer más en profundidad los intentos eilusiones del hermano mayor de Juan RamónJiménez, Premio Nobel de Literatura de 1956.Eustaquio Jiménez entendería desde unprimer momento la importancia de valorarla gesta colombina, sus marinos, el legado yde disponerlo turísticamente para una mayorprotección y preservación en el tiempo. A pesarde ello, sus múltiples intentos quedaron en lanada, y el estallido de la Guerra Civil sucumbiríahasta nuestros días unos espacios históricos en laslocalidades de Moguer, Palos, Huelva y San Juandel Puerto que no terminan de dimensionarse taly como deberían
AB The defense and enhancement of thoseknown as Columbian places makes sense as aresult of the IV Centenary of the Discoveryof America and the foundation of institutionssuch as the Real Sociedad Colombina Huelva.From a patrimonial and tourist point of view,Eustaquio Jiménez (1880-1942) from Mogueríawould become, in the first decades of the20th century, one of its staunchest defenders.This study intends to know more in depth theattempts and illusions of the older brotherof Juan Ramón Jiménez, Nobel Prize forLiterature in 1956.Eustaquio Jiménez would understandfrom the outset the importance of valuingthe Columbian feat, its sailors, the legacy andselling it to tourists for greater protectionand preservation over time. Despite this, hismultiple attempts came to nothing, and theoutbreak of the Civil War would succumb tothis day some historical spaces in the towns ofMoguer, Palos, Huelva and San Juan del Puertothat have not finished dimensioning as theyshould.
