AB Este trabajo discute la experiencia de enseñanza como práctica social privilegiada parala comprensión de los significados atribuidos al deporte por la televisión. Parte referencialsociocultural para fundamentar una acción pedagógica realizada con futuros profesoresde Educación Física de Brasil. Por la lectura de la transmisión televisiva de uncampeonato de baloncesto femenino fue identificado el «juego» de significados difundidospor la televisión brasileña, influenciando la construcción de cierta ética y estéticadel fenómeno deportivo contemporáneo. En ese proceso, los alumnos pudieron identificarla transformación del deporte en tele-espectáculo y comprender la significación delos elementos de cultura por los medios de comunicación
AB This paper discusses the educational experience as a privileged social practice for thecomprehension of the meaning of sport in television. We base our socio-cultural approachon a pedagogical action carried out with future Physical Education teachers fromBrazil. They identified, through the reading of the television broadcast of a women’sbasketball championship, the play on meanings spread by the Brazilian television, thusinfluencing the construction of certain ethics and aesthetics of the present-day sportsphenomenon. In such a process, the students were able to identify the transformationof sport into a «TV-show» and to comprehend the process of signification of culturalelements by the media
