T1 Las constituciones de los hospitales y los cuidados enfermeros en la España de los Austrias (siglos xvi-xvii)

AB El siglo XVI conoce en España unimportante cambio de mentalidad enlo referente a materia de salud. Lasconsecuencias de ello fueron la reformade los hospitales y la aplicación de nuevasformas de curar y cuidar a los enfermos.Las constituciones elaboradas para estosnuevos hospitales reflejan, en ciertamedida, estos cambios y asumen laspropuestas que la ciencia médica promuevedesde la literatura especializada. En estetrabajo se estudia la profunda imbricaciónexistente entre las nuevas constitucionesde hospitales castellanos de fines del sigloXVI y todo el XVII y los cuidados enellos prestados por un personal enfermerocada vez más formado y especializado.Por otra parte, el hospital se erige en uncentro diseñado también para tratar eldesequilibrio espiritual que padecen losenfermos y marginales.
AB The 16th century in Spain knows animportant change of mentality in relationto health. The consequences of this were thereform of hospitals and the implementationof new ways of treatment and of takingcare of sick people. The constitutionsdrawn up for these new hospitals reflect,to some extent, these changes and assumethe proposals promoted by medical sciencefrom specialized literature. This paperexplores the deep existing interweavingbetween the new constitutions of Castilianhospitals at the end of the 16th and 17thcentury and the care they provided bya nursing staff, more and more trainedand specialized. On the other hand, thehospital stands in a facility designed totreat the spiritual imbalance that the sickor the poor tramp in them suffered as aresult of their social marginalization.
