AB La conquista de Sevilla por Fernando III en 646 h/1248 constituye unode los hechos decisivos del proceso de expansión política y territorialdesarrollado por la Corona de Castilla durante el siglo XIII. En este artículose plantea, por vez primera, un análisis global de la informaciónque las fuentes árabes aportan sobre este episodio, la cual no ha sido,hasta el momento, objeto de un tratamiento pormenorizado. Esta informaciónresulta ampliamente compatible con la de las fuentes cristianas yposee un particular interés en relación con tres aspectos específicos: lacronología de la conquista y la secuencia del traspaso del control de laciudad de manos musulmanas a cristianas, la visión de los vencidos y eldestino de la población musulmana.
AB The conquest of Seville by Ferdinand III of Castile in 646 h/1248 is oneof the decisive events of the process of political and territorial expansiondeveloped by the Crown of Castile during the thirteenth century. This articlepresents, for the first time, a comprehensive analysis of the information that Arab sources bring about this episode, which has not been hithertothe subject of a detailed treatment. This information, broadly compatiblewith Christian sources, has a particular interest in relation tothree specific issues: the chronology of the conquest and the handoverprocess of the city from Muslims to Christians, the vision of the vanquishedand the fate of the Muslim population.
