(Formación Bacariza, Cabo Ortegal) T1 Ultramylonites of fluidal appearance, pseudotachylytes or something in between? (Bacariza Formation, Cabo Ortegal) A1 Puelles, Pablo A1 Ábalos, Benito A1 Gil Ibarguchi, José Ignacio AB Occurrence of tectonites with features characteristic of both pseudotachylytes and ultramylonites formedunder high-pressure granulite-facies conditions is reported in the Cabo Ortegal Complex of NW Spain. Weinterpret that these rocks were originated due to a seismic event at great depth (1.4 GPa) under hightemperatures (740 ºC). Shear heating would have affected the still hot and mechanically rigid granulitesand provoked melt formation. Ambient high P and T would have led to subsequent recrystallization of thepreviously formed melt giving rise to a weak planar fabric PB Sociedad Geológica de España YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8639 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8639 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
