RT Journal Article T1 Estructura interna del batolito granítico de Nisa-Alburquerque T1 Internal structure of the Nisa-Alburquerque batholith A1 González Menéndez, Luis A1 Azor, A. AB The Late Variscan Nisa-Alburquerque batholith (SW-Iberian Peninsula) is located close to the boundarybetween two major geologic domains of the Iberian Massif: the Central Iberian Zone and the Ossa-MorenaZone. This baholith is made up of S-type granitic rocks with minor I-type ones. The main facies displaysfrequent magmatic orientations defined by the k-feldspar ± plagioclase phenocrysts. We have made sixschematic cross sections perpendicular to the internal structure and to the elongated shape of the batholith. These sections show the internal structure of the batholith and the relationships between the differentgranitic facies. The cross-cutting relationships indicate that the general orientation was developed duringthe emplacement of the main granitic magma and prior to the differentiation/intrusion of the remainingfacies. Diachronic eastward-progressing cooling of the granitic magma could explain some of the differencesbetween the western and central-eastern domains of the batholith: sharp contacts and fabric tightening inwestern domains versus sinuous contacts, magma mixing and re-intrusion of different magmas, in centraleasterndomains YR 2006 FD 2006 LK http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8572 UL http://hdl.handle.net/10272/8572 LA spa DS Repositorio Institucional de la Universidad de Huelva RD 30 may 2026
