AB The manuscript text of [X.] Ath. 2.17gives impossible syntax and meaning: ἢνδὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖς συνθήκαις, †ἢ ὑφ’ὅτου ἀδικεῖ†. The paper discusses previousemendations, arguing that they areunsatisfactory, and conjectures that theoriginal text was ἢν δὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖςσυνθήκαις, ἢ ὑφ’ ὅρκου ἀδικῶσι “in casethey do not respect the agreements, or violatejustice when under oath”
AB Il testo di [X.] Ath. 2.17, come riportato daimanoscritti, è impossibile per motivi sintatticie di senso: ἢν δὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖςσυνθήκαις, †ἢ ὑφ’ ὅτου ἀδικεῖ†. La notadiscute proposte precedenti, sostenendo chesono insoddisfacenti, e congettura come iltesto originario ἢν δὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖςσυνθήκαις, ἢ ὑφ’ ὅρκου ἀδικῶσι “qualoranon rispettino i patti, oppure, vincolati dagiuramento, commettano ingiustizia”
AB El manuscrito de [X.] Ath. 2.17 tiene una sintaxis y un significado imposibles:  ἢν δὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖς συνθήκαις, †ἢ ὑφ’ ὅτου ἀδικεῖ†. Este artículo analiza correcciones previas, razonando que son insatisfactorias y que la hipótesis del texto original era ἢν δὲ μὴ ἐμμένωσι ταῖς συνθήκαις, ἢ ὑφ’ ὅρκου ἀδικῶσι “por si no respetan los acuerdos, o transgreden la justicia bajo juramento”.
