AB Para las figuras clave del Romanticismoinglés, el caminar por la naturaleza fue unaintensa experiencia poética que dio origena algunos de sus mejores poemas, basadosen la búsqueda de la inmersión total en laNaturaleza y del conocimiento del yo delpoeta. La obra de W. Wordsworth y S. T.Coleridge es un claro ejemplo de este viajeepistemológico por el mundo natural, en elque la identidad del poeta se difumina paraser reconstruida después en su íntima comunióncon la Naturaleza. En este trabajosostenemos que el caminar tiene un efectopoético similar en la obra de Miguel deUnamuno y Antonio Machado, que unena la lectura de la poesía pedestre de Wordsworthy Coleridge su propia experienciadel campo español
AB Walking in Nature was for the EnglishRomantics an intense poetic experience,which originated some of their bestpoems, based on the search of a total immersionin Nature and of the gaining ofthe poet’s self-knowledge. The poetry ofW. Wordsworth and S. T. Coleridge epitomisesthis epistemological journey in thenatural world, in which the limits of thepoet’s identity are blurred, being that identityreconstructed afterwards in its intimatecommunion with Nature. A similar poeticeffect, we contend, is produced in two majorearly twentieth-century Spanish poets,namely Miguel de Unamuno and AntonioMachado, both by means of their readingof Wordsworth’s and Coleridge’s pedestrianpoems, and by their own exposure to theSpanish countryside
