AB En este artículo se analiza, en primer lugar, los contenidos geológicosque se incluyen en los libros de texto y los que aparecen en el Real Decretodel Ministerio. Posteriormente se plantean algunas consideraciones que tendríanque ser validadas referentes a los contenidos de temas geológicos enlos libros de texto en la Educación Secundaria y, para terminar, se proponenalgunas recomendaciones de carácter didáctico con objeto de promover unaenseñanza más atractiva y participativa del alumnado de Secundaria. AB An analysis is made of the legal framework and geological content oftextbooks in the lower, obligatory level of Secondary Education (ESO) inSpain. The discussion on the geological content of textbooks shows the maindeficiencies of the present state of Secondary Education on what concernsEarth Sciences and the need for a clear increase of both the content of geologicaldisciplines. It also shows the convenience to make geology more attractivefor students.At this point, the Geo-Routes (geodidactical itinerariesalong relevant areas) stand as a key-instrument for an active and participativeteaching, due to their high educational and exemplifying potential
