AB Pretende-se compreender o perfil dos militares portugueses no que concerne aosníveis de Agressividade, Autoconceito e Perfecionismo, recorrendo a análisescomparativas por género e patente militar. A amostra foi constituída por 183militares, com idades entre os 18 e os 35 anos, 18 do género feminino e 165 dogénero masculino. As variáveis do estudo foram avaliadas através da EscalaMultidimensional de Perfecionismo, Questionário de Agressividade e InventárioClínico de Autoconceito. Os resultados demonstram que o perfil geral dos militaresse caracteriza por níveis elevados de Perfecionismo e Autoconceito gerais e níveismoderados de Agressividade Geral. A comparação entre géneros evidencioudiferenças significativas nos resultados apenas no que concerne aos níveis deagressividade. Por outro lado, as análises comparativas das patentes militaresindicam a existência de diferenças significativas nos níveis de autoconceito eagressividade. Os resultados demonstram que a agressividade se correlacionanegativamente com o autoconceito e positivamente com o perfecionismo.
AB This research pretends to understand the profile of the young Portuguese army in levels ofAggressiveness, Perfectionism and Self-concept, according to comparative analyze by genderand military rank. The sample consisted of 183 soldiers, aged between 18 and 35 years, whichare 18 female and 165 male. The study variables were evaluated by applying threeinstruments, respectively, Multidimensional Scale of Perfectionism, Aggression Questionnaireand Self-Concept Clinical Inventory. The main results show that elevated levels of generalPerfectionism and general Self-concept, as moderate levels of general Aggressiveness,characterize the overall profile of the young military. The comparative gender analysis showedthat there are significant differences in the results regarding levels of aggression only. On theother hand the comparative analysis of military ranks indicates the existence of significantdifferences in levels of self-concept and aggression. Finally, the correlation analysis shows thataggressiveness correlates negatively with self-concept and positively with perfectionism.
