AB El presente texto aborda el concepto de «reconocimiento», desarrollado, a partir de una específica interpretación del usohegeliano del mismo, por el seguidor de Habermas, Axel Honneth(Universidad Goethe de Frankfurt), como elemento central para lacomprensión del funcionamiento de una moderna sociedad democrática.Al mismo tiempo, este concepto y su uso, a veces no libre decierta ingenuidad hacia las contradicciones estructurales de la mejorforma social posible en condiciones capitalistas, está revisado yconfrontado a partir de un análisis del concepto del «cuádrupleethos de la modernidad capitalista» del filósofo mexicano–ecuatorianoBolívar Echeverría (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México).
