AB The controversy arising from thedeclaration of the Immaculate Conceptionof the Virgin, transcended the merelyreligious, to become something social. Thishappened in the kingdom of Seville and,specifically, in Aracena. The celebrationsmade with this motive in 1617 are presentedin this study.
