AB Ante las dificultades que presentan los estudiantes de 15 años a la hora de aplicar susconocimientos y destrezas matemáticas básicas en situaciones de la vida real, hechodocumentado en varios informes del proyecto OCDE/PISA, partimos de la interroganteacerca de qué Oportunidades de Aprendizaje (OTL) 1 ofrecemos a nuestros estudiantesy, a través del estudio de dos casos, tratamos de comprender cómo éstas se relacionancon sus competencias matemáticas (CM). En la presente tesis doctoral elaboramos yproponemos un Modelo OTL-CM, adaptado a la realidad observada, que trata dedescribir, explicar y predecir los fenómenos de la enseñanza-aprendizaje, en términosde que ciertas OTL (que ofrecen profesores en sus aulas) pueden favorecer eldesarrollo de ciertas CM
AB Given the difficulties of 15 year-old students in applying their knowledge and basicmathematical skills in real lite situations, a fact documented in severa! reports ofOECD 1 PISA, we start from the question about what opportunities to learn (OTL) dowe offer to our students and, through two case studies, we try to understand how theyrelate to their mathematics literacy (CM). Hence, we develop and propase a ModelOTL-CM, adapted to the observed reality, which seeks to describe, explain and predictthe phenomena ofteaching and learning, in terms of certain OTL (that teachers offer intheir classrooms) can foster the development of certain CM.
