AB El  Geoparque  Mundial  de  la  UNESCO  Montañas  do  Courel  cuenta con yacimientos paleontológicos paleozoicos que van desde el Cámbrico hasta el Carbonífero. En la actualidad, se está llevando a cabo un proceso de búsqueda y catalogación de yacimientos con fósiles marinos paleozoicos que ha generado una base de datos, la cual ha permitido y permitirá ponerlos en valor, así como mejorar su mejor protección y preservación. Además, mediante la musealiza-ción de algunos de los fósiles del Geoparque en el Museo Geológico de Quiroga, se cumple uno de los objetivos del geoparque, que es el acercamiento de la Geología a la sociedad
AB The  Montañas  do  Courel  UNESCO  Global  Geopark  has  Paleo-zoic paleontological sites ranging from the Cambrian to the Carbo-niferous. At present, a process of searching and cataloging deposits with Paleozoic marine fossils is being carried out, which has genera-ted a database, which has allowed and will allow them to be valued, and improve their protection and preservation. In addition, through the musealization of some of the fossils of the geopark in the Geo-logical  Museum  of  Quiroga,  one  of  the  objectives  of  the  geopark  is  fulfilled, which is the approach of Geology to society
