AB Este trabajo ofrece un acercamiento a las dos traducciones españolas de la novela helenizante Argenis (1621), por Gabriel de Corral y José de Pellicer, publicadas ambas en Madrid en 1626. Se analizan algunos ejemplos representativos que permitan vislumbrar decisiones clave vinculadas al enfoque general adoptado por cada traductor, como la elección del registro, el tipo de traslación y el estilo. También se comparan algunos pasajes que guardan una relación temática con la obra de Góngora para examinar cómo ambas versiones se relacionan con el fenómeno de la nueva poesía, analizando de qué modo estas influencias literarias se reflejan en las decisiones estilísticas y traductológicas de cada traductor.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AB This paper analyzes the two Spanish translations of the Greek novel Argenis (1621), carried out by Gabriel de Corral and José de Pellicer, both published in Madrid in 1626. It delves into a selection of representative examples from the novel to theorize on the general approach adopted by each translator, including the choice of register, method of translation, and overall stylistic tendencies. It also compares several passages thematically related to Góngora’s poetry to examine how both versions engage with the broader context of the controversy around Góngora’s poetics, analyzing how these literary influences are reflected in the stylistic and translational choices of each translator.
