AB Este trabajo pretende introducir una propuesta de interpretación deltexto clásico de Étienne de La Boétie sobre la servidumbre voluntaria desde laperspectiva que sobre el Estado y el poder desarrolla Foucault a finales de losaños setenta a partir del concepto de gubernamentalidad. El estudio comparativo de estos dos autores, infrecuente en la bibliografía en español, puedeenriquecer no solo la comprensión desde una perspectiva diferente de la emergencia del Estado moderno, las relaciones de poder que instaura y su pervivencia, sino también iluminar críticamente la proliferación en nuestros días decomplejos dispositivos de subjetivación que producen voluntad de servir
AB The aim of this paper is to introduce a proposal for the interpretationof Étienne de La Boéie’s classic text on voluntary servitude from the perspectiveof the State and power developed by Foucault at the end of the 1970s basedon the concept of governmentality. The comparative study of these two authors,infrequent in the Spanish bibliography, can enrich not only the understandingfrom a different perspective of the emergence of the modern state, thepower relations it establishes and its survival, but also critically illuminate theproliferation in our days of complex devices of subjectivation that produce thewill to serve
