T1 Importance of Dynamic Capabilities in the InternationalizationProcess: the Case of the KIS

AB Los servicios intensivos en conocimiento (KIS) han sido los que han protagonizado mayor crecimiento a nivel mundial. Entre los factores de éxito seencuentran aspectos tan importantes como son sus propios recursos intangibles y la conversión de los mismos en capacidades dinámicas, los cualesles han permitido ser más flexibles y adoptar nuevas formas de entrada almercado internacional como son fusiones, adquisiciones, acuerdos de cooperación, alianzas estratégicas, etc. Así, el comportamiento de los KIS en elpanorama internacional nos hace plantear cuestiones referentes sí las teoríasde internacionalización que, tradicionalmente, se han aplicado a los bienes yservicios, son aplicables a los KIS. Es por ello que nuestro objetivo será, porun lado, conocer si las teorías de costes de transacción e internalización, elparadigma ecléctico y el modelo gradual, se adaptan bien a los KIS y en casocontrario qué modificaciones y aspectos relevantes será necesario considerarpara mejorar dicha aplicabilidad
AB Knowledge intensive services (KIS) have been the ones that have led tothe greatest growth worldwide. Among the success factors are such importantaspects as their own intangible resources and the conversion of these intodynamic capabilities, which have allowed them to be more flexible and adoptnew forms of entry into the international market, such as mergers, acquisitions,cooperation agreements, strategic alliances, etc. Thus, the behavior of the KISon the international scene makes us raise questions concerning whether the internationalization theories that, traditionally, have been applied to goods andservices, are applicable to the KIS. That is why our objective will be, on theone hand, to know if the theories of transaction costs and internalization, theeclectic paradigm and the gradual model, are well adapted to the KIS and otherwise what modifications and relevant aspects it will be necessary to considerto improve their applicability
